North Hill’s Empty Bowls project will raise money for Needham’s Food Pantry

Empty Bowls is a grassroots movement by artists and crafts people in cities and towns around the world to raise money for food related charities to care for and feed the hungry in their communities. North Hill’s Empty Bowls program will raise money for the Needham Food Pantry.

Residents and team members will work together to craft 420 bowls in celebration of North Hill’s 42nd anniversary. Like the Yarn Bomb project of 2024, Empty Bowls will engage residents, team members, and the broader Needham Community, allowing participation at any level of ability.

Supporting The Community

The project will kick off during Needham’s Open Studios, May 2 and 3, with open studio activity from 11 am-12:30 pm and 1 pm-3 pm each day. Open Studio visitors will be invited to “get muddy” and try their hand at building a bowl to be donated to the project.

Bowls will be sold via North Hill’s website and at a gala event on September 14, 2026, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm on campus. Guests can purchase bowls and enjoy soups provided by local eateries.
