What Residents are Saying

I've lived at North Hill 8 years and love it! The facilities are attractive and well-maintained, the grounds lovely, the food fabulous - and cooked to order! - the activities numerous and high quality, the health care superior across the whole continuum (we have a skilled nursing facility for short-term rehab and long-term care, as well as excellent home health services, memory care, and assisted-type living). Best of all is the people, residents and staff - friendly and fascinating. I didn't know I could develop such deep friendships at my age! This is easy and vibrant living. It is a joy to be here. I have been here at North Hill for a year, and the decision to get out of my big house and move to this continuing care retirement community was definitely one of the best decisions of my life. The facilities are lovely, and the programming is varied and plentiful. The staff is warm and responsive, and the residents are incredibly friendly. The food is delicious too! I have, happily, not required any medical care, but the clinical facilities are 5-star. If you are in your senior years, don't wait to make the move. Call now for a tour of North Hill! My wife and I have spent five very happy years living at North Hill, enjoying the physical amenities, the rich program of activities, the delicious food, and — most important- - the people. Anyone considering moving to a retirement community should pay North Hill a visit to see for herself. Resident Stan F.

North Hill has been my home for the past nine years and I’ve never regretted my decision to move here. Fortunately, I still live in Independent living in my wonderful apartment, but experienced the phenomenal care available in our nursing section when I had Covid. It has amazed me how many good friends you can make in your 80s, but it’s so welcoming and friendly here that meeting people is easy. There are many, many activities available - a creative arts area, bridge and mahjong games, swimming pool, chorus, lectures, woodworking, concerts, on and on. Household repairs are usually accomplished within hours. Last but not least, the food is way too good - several pounds too good! This is a truly wonderful community. Resident Patricia Palmer

My dad recovered from a broken hip here (Pines Edge) and received EXCELLENT care. He also said something you never hear from places like this: “the food is delicious, it’s first class here”. So grateful to the kind, compassionate and supportive staff there. Claudine Riley

Second generation coming to North Hill. My mother received the best care and enjoyed it all. I haven't needed the care but the Team Members, food, residents, and activities are all just tops. Phyllis Gibson, second generation resident

My 85 year old Mother had a hip replacement surgery a month ago and made an amazing recovery at North Hill! She was nervous to have the surgery and knew she would need to go to a rehab after in order to take back the mobility she has been striving for and that she would need to participate in an intensive rehabilitation program. We began looking into a few local rehabs before the surgery and when a friend told us about North Hill, we toured the facility. We were extremely delighted with the idea of her recovering here! The admissions directors and all staff were extremely helpful with navigating us through the process of her discharge from the hospital to North Hill and the nursing staff and medical team are simply the best! They took care to give the right amount of time and attention to my Mom each day to make sure her recovery went smoothly! The Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and other therapies are superior! They worked with my Mom each day to give her the strength, training, and confidence to progress at the right pace for her and to really allow her to take her mobility back and increase her independence! The Engagement Director and team are one of a kind! They arranged for fun and interesting activities that my Mom could choose to participate in and made sure they arranged for her to get to the activities she chose each day that worked around her therapy schedule so she could take part in all that she chose! My Mom also described the food as delicious, healthy, and tasteful! North Hill was hands down the right place for my Mom to recover and as a family we highly recommend it! Darlene Thebaud

I've lived here 6 years and I'd recommend the independent living facility to anyone wanting a care-free very stimulating life after 65. The facilities, food, and maintenance are all top notch. But most important are the splendid residents of many walks of life with many interests and lots of vitality. It is a real community, friendly, and caring to all. The staff (we call them "team members") are all gracious, helpful, and enjoyable. Living here has made me healthier, wiser, and more joyful. PMJ

My mom has lived at North Hill for 3 years (pre-pandemic). She feels so lucky to live here. The restaurants are amazing! The staff is fabulous; so caring and professional. They have PT on premises, a pool, gym, and all different types of classes/activities. They have a bus that takes people to Trader Joes. You can get a ride to medical appointments. And they have aids to come in and help you start your day if needed -- make your bed, prepare food, etc. The team is amazing. They are super flexible and eager to help. The facility is pristine, bright and beautiful. The gardens are lovely. They even have a movie theater on property (small screening room). Robin Welch
